Advance Music is proud to announce the
13th annual Advance Music Singer/Songwriter Contest.

Hello all you aspiring acoustic singer/songwriters.  It's that time again!  The 13th annual Advance Music Singer/Songwriter Contest is here!  There are 3 rounds that showcase 15 talented musicians each night.  The top 3 from each round go on to the final round with the winner receiving a brand new Taylor guitar, a $1000 award from the Rachel Bissex White Light Fund and a recording time from Kyle Rose's KTR Studios in Burlington.  The first round is at Red Square on lower Church St. on Tuesday October 18th at 7:00.  Round number 2 is on October 25th at 7:00, at Club Metronome, located on main street in Burlington. Round number 3 is on November 1st at 7:00, at Halvorson's on upper Church St., The finals, held on November 8th, will be at Higher Ground's Showcase Lounge at 7:00.  Higher Gound is located on Williston Road in South Burlington.  Entry fee is $25.00, and you will receive an event tee-shirt and a set of D'Addario strings the night of the event.  You must register at Advance Music, and it is first come first served...this event is very popular and fills up fast.

2010 ADVANCE MUSIC ACOUSTIC GUITAR SEARCH
Contest is subject to the following rules:

1. This is a singer-songwriter contest. Contestants must perform alone.
2. Each contestant has five minutes to perform their selection(s). Do not feel that you that you must fill up the entire five minutes, play your best material, if it happens to be two minutes long that is fine. Multiple songs are fine as long as the five minute rule is adhered to.
3. There are three rounds from which the top three contestants move on to the finals. The first round is on Tuesday October 18th, at Red Square. The second round is on Tuesday October 25th, at Club Metronome on Main Street. The 3rd round is on Tuesday November 1st at Halvorson’s on upper Church Street in Burlington. The finals will be on Tuesday November 8th, at Higher Ground in South Burlington. Start time for all three nights will be at 7:00pm. Please show up at 6:00pm for check in. Performance order will be determined at random the night of the performance.
4. Prizes include an acoustic guitar from Taylor Guitars and a 3 song demo from KTR Recording on Pine Street in Burlington.
5. There will be five judges each night
6. There is a $25 dollar entry fee – this fee gets you free set of guitar strings and a limited edition t-shirt.
7. Bring a crowd! A cheering section will only enhance your chances of winning.
